860 KY Speaks On “BIG SHOT BOB”
According to 860 KY, the goal behind “BIG SHOT BOB” was creating a catchy record with a darker energy while allowing the visual to elevate the overall experience.
“The mindset was to catch a good catchy vibe on a dark beat and as for the visuals all credit to Rook the director, that was all him.”
The record continues to gain traction online and serves as another step forward in the artist's growing catalog.
Hartford Culture Continues To Inspire His Music
For 860 KY, representing Hartford and Connecticut has always been bigger than music.
“Hartford / CT culture is extremely important to me. One of my goals when I first started making music was to get Hartford and the CT music scene the eyes it deserve.”
As more Connecticut artists gain recognition outside the state, 860 KY hopes to continue helping shine a larger spotlight on local talent and culture.
Connecticut Artists Need Their Own Identity
As Connecticut's music scene continues to receive more attention, 860 KY believes artists should continue working toward developing a unique identity.
“I think it’s good that CT is getting more attention, but I’m not really sure what makes us different because a lot of artists in CT are using Detroit or New York beats and sounds. We got to find our own.”
The discussion surrounding Connecticut's sound has become increasingly common as artists from Hartford, New Haven, Bridgeport, Waterbury, and other cities continue expanding their audiences.
Versatility Helps Separate 860 KY From The Crowd
Whether he's creating energetic records, melodic songs, or more personal music, 860 KY says his creativity is driven by whatever mood he's in at the moment.
“I can make just about any kind of music but I just make music based off my vibe or how I’m feeling, which let me be able to do so much different sounds and flows.”
When it comes to visuals, creativity is one of the biggest qualities he looks for from directors and videographers.
“The only thing I need is someone who is creative and someone wit different transitions and color schemes when shooting.”
The Biggest Challenge Of Being Independent
Like many independent artists, 860 KY says financing creative ideas remains one of the biggest obstacles.
“I feel like the biggest challenge for any independent artist is having the funds to make your vision come to life.”
From videos and marketing campaigns to studio sessions and promotional efforts, independent artists often carry the responsibility of funding their own growth.

Connecticut Artists He Wants To Work With
When asked which Connecticut artists he'd like to collaborate with, 860 KY named several notable names from around the state.
Tye Henney
Showly
ANoyd
Fuego Base
Jayrock Jax
Frank 45
The list reflects some of the talent currently helping push Connecticut's music scene forward.
Looking Ahead To 2026
As 2026 continues, 860 KY remains focused on expanding his reach and introducing his music to larger audiences.
“I really want to market myself and get exposure. I want to get on some of these bigger platforms and I want to hit 50K views on a video this year.”
With a growing catalog, a clear vision, and a commitment to representing Hartford, 860 KY is determined to continue building momentum while helping elevate Connecticut music along the way.
For artists across Connecticut, that mission continues to resonate. As the state's hip-hop scene grows, 860 KY is positioning himself as one of the artists working to ensure Connecticut receives the recognition it deserves.
