A New Chapter Begins for Kyash.D

Connecticut's music scene continues to evolve, welcoming artists from different backgrounds and cultures. One of the newest names looking to establish himself is Kyash.D, a Jamaican-born dancehall artist who recently relocated to Connecticut with a clear vision: introduce authentic Jamaican dancehall to a new audience while building a lasting career in the state's growing independent music scene.

Although he's only been in Connecticut for a few months, Kyash.D says this isn't just a temporary move. It's an opportunity to create new relationships, expand his audience, and represent his culture through music.

Who Is Kyash.D?

Moving from Jamaica to a new state comes with its own challenges, but Kyash.D believes his background gives him something unique to offer Connecticut listeners.

"Moving fresh from Jamaica, I'm bringing a unique, authentic dancehall energy to Connecticut. Not many artists push dancehall professionally here, so I'm introducing something new. That inspires me to blend my Jamaican roots with local influences, standing out."

For people discovering his music for the first time, authenticity remains at the center of everything he creates.

"I'm bringing the real, fresh Jamaican dancehall vibe. This culture hasn't always had that authenticity here until artists blow up from Jamaica. Now, I'm here to bring that story directly, connecting the roots to a new audience."

The Story Behind "1 Chip City"

One of the songs that recently landed on 2TYME's radar is "1 Chip City." According to Kyash.D, the record represents confidence, ambition, and making it clear that he's serious about his music career.

"'1 Chip City' is me standing up. I wanted people to know I'm a man of my word and mean business. The process was about capturing that boldness—making it clear I'm here to make my mark."

The official music video carries that same message.

"The '1 Chip City' video's vision was all about confidence and ambition—showing I mean business. Visuals matter because people connect with the image and story behind the music."

Bringing Authentic Dancehall to Connecticut

Having experienced both Jamaica and Connecticut firsthand, Kyash.D sees similarities between the two communities through music and culture.

"In Jamaica, dancehall is everyday life—it's the pulse. In Connecticut, the Caribbean community embraces it, and I feel that passion. It's like home, but with new opportunities to grow dancehall even further."

His goal isn't to change who he is after relocating. Instead, he hopes to introduce authentic dancehall to new listeners while contributing to Connecticut's growing music scene.

Building His Name in a New State

Starting over in a new market isn't easy, but Kyash.D says consistency has been his biggest advantage.

"The biggest obstacle has been building connections and earning attention in a new place. I've worked through it by staying consistent, networking, performing, and letting the music speak."

As he continues to perform and connect with audiences across the state, he hopes those relationships will continue opening new doors.

What's Next for Kyash.D?

Along with "1 Chip City," Kyash.D recently released another single titled "Just Time," continuing to build momentum as he establishes himself in Connecticut.

Looking ahead, his focus remains simple.

"For the rest of 2026, my goals are to grow my fanbase, release more music, and establish myself as a top dancehall voice here. Fans can expect consistency, bigger visuals, performances, and music that bridges cultures."

Whether through new releases, performances, or collaborations, Kyash.D is committed to introducing authentic Jamaican dancehall to Connecticut while creating opportunities for himself in a new market.

As Connecticut's music scene continues expanding, artists bringing fresh sounds and different perspectives help strengthen the state's creative landscape. With authenticity at the forefront of his music, Kyash.D is looking to make a lasting impression.
